Succulents are the perfect low-maintenance option for those living in small urban spaces in need of some greenery. Easy to care for, water and sunlight are all you need to keep your plants happy and healthy.
Water
For most succulents, the period of growth is from Spring to Fall. During this time, the soil should be given a thorough soaking at least once a week. During winter, when there is less light, most succulents are in a dormant period. At this the time intervals between watering can be increased and the soil should be thoroughly dried out in between watering. This could be as infrequently as once a month, but will depend on the conditions in your space.
Sunlight
Generally, succulents tend to thrive in bright but indirect sunlight. If you notice the leaves are starting to brown, turn yellow or orange, they may be getting too much light and would be better off moved to a space with more shade. On the other hand, if you notice your succulent starting to bend or stretch towards the light, it's probably time to move it to a better lit space.
